Working With and Without a Vice
Why Every Workshop Should Have a Vice
A HEUER vice is not only an extra pair of hands and a great workmate, but also helps you work safely in your workshop. Here are a few situations in which we simply wouldn’t want to be without the vice in our workshop.
01 Drilling
Especially when using rotating tools such as a drill, it is essential to secure the workpiece firmly. Only then can you work safely. And the results speak for themselves. A HEUER vice holds the workpiece securely and precisely in place.
02 Bending
Need a clean edge and a perfect angle on your workpiece?
A worktop is not ideal for bending sheet metal neatly and at exactly the right angle. You’ll achieve better results by clamping the sheet metal in a HEUER vice and using the jaws both to hold it precisely in place and to provide a 90° angle.
03 Straightening
Need to straighten a nail quickly?
Of course! Your HEUER vice is a reliable workmate for this task too. Our HEUER vice has an anvil that you can easily use for the job. And don’t worry: it can withstand hammer blows because it is forged from steel and is therefore guaranteed to be unbreakable!
04 Filing
Holding the workpiece in one hand and the file in the other?
That’s not a good idea! Use a HEUER vice to secure your workpiece. It does the hard work of gripping for you while protecting your hands from the file. And you’ll get a better result too.
05 Cutting with an Angle Grinder
Anyone using an angle grinder should always put safety first. Most importantly, never use an angle grinder unless your workpiece is securely clamped! Secure your workpiece in a HEUER vice to protect yourself and those around you. This allows you to hold the tool with both hands and achieve a clean cut!
